The Office of Public Works (OPW) is a service organisation and our ethos is to be client focused, to ensure timely delivery of services and to provide value for money.  Working with the OPW can provide you with rewarding and fulfilling employment at the forefront of Estate Portfolio management including Heritage Services and Flood Risk Management.

The OPW is based in a large number of locations countrywide and its services are provided by staff in a variety of roles and positions that may be seasonal, fixed term/purpose or permanent. Industrial Personnel manages the recruitment of industrial staff for the OPW for a range of positions which includes Craftspersons, General Operatives, Storekeepers, Catering Assistants and Guides at visitor centres.

Vacancy - Botanist Grade III at the National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin

The OPW currently has a vacancy for a Botanist Grade III.

The successful candidate will undertake a broad range of duties as part of the scientific programmes of the National Botanic Gardens. As a key member of the team s/he will assist in curating the Herbarium collection and participate in the taxonomic, conservation and other scientific programmes of the National Botanic Gardens and provide scientific information and data for government and the public.

Vacancy - Herbarium Assistant at National Botanic Gardens

The OPW currently has a vacancy for a Herbarium Assistant.

The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping the herbarium in good order, curating the collections, and assisting the Taxonomist, where appropriate, with the taxonomic and conservation programmes of the National Botanic Gardens.
