Civil Service Awards showcase staff excellence & innovation within the Office of Public Works

7 December 16

The Commissioners of Public Works are delighted to hear that the Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme received the Citizen Impact Award at the Civil Service Excellence & Innovation Awards, this evening at Royal Hospital Kilmainham.

The Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme demonstrates a genuine cross-Government engagement and co-operation, in how Government Departments, the Office of Public Works, the Defence Forces, An Garda Síochána, the local authority network, other State agencies, cultural and academic institutions, commercial interests and community sector groups can work together effectively on a large-scale national initiative.

Another OPW project The Flood Studies Update Web Portal was nominated under the Excellence in Innovation Awards and was amongst 30 other finalists who were shortlisted in ten different categories such as excellence in policy, in innovation, in customer service and in skills development.

The Commissioners of Public Works would like to acknowledge the magnificent contribution across all sections and staff within the OPW whose efforts made the 2016 Centenary Commemorations and the Flood Studies Update Web Portal such a resounding success.
