GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES NEW CHAIRMAN OF THE OFFICE OF PUBLIC WORKS
The Government today approved the appointment by the Minister for Finance of Ms. Clare McGrath as the next Chairman of the Commissioners of Public Works in Ireland.
Ms. McGrath, a native of Ballingarry, Thurles, Co. Tipperary, is currently OPW Commissioner with responsibility for the OPW Property portfolio, Heritage Services, and the Facilities and Event Management Services. She previously worked as Commissioner with responsibility for Project Management Services. Prior to her appointment as OPW Commissioner she worked in the OPW Corporate Services, in Human Resources, and in Financial Services.
Before joining the OPW Clare spent 17 years working in the Revenue Commissioners.
Ms. McGrath, who is a graduate from UCD and Barrister at Law, will take up her new appointment as Chairman with effect from 5th September 2009.
