Standard Specifications
The OPW has created a number of Standard Specifications for studies relating to flood risk management and flood relief in Ireland. These specifications have resulted from extensive experience built-up undertaking and commissioning flood relief feasibility studies and flood risk assessment/management studies in the past.
The Standard Specifications are used in tender documents for Consultant Contracts, as well as being provided to Local Authorities or other third parties wishing to undertake or commission such studies on their own behalf. They are also used to guide work undertaken in-house in the OPW Flood Relief and Risk Management Division.
Standard Specifications are provided for the following categories of studies:
- (Catchment) Flood Risk Assessment & Management (CFRAM) Studies .
- Flood Relief Scheme Feasibility Studies .
- Local Flood Risk Assessment / Management Studies .
- Environmental Impact Statements for Flood Relief Schemes .
- Strategic Environmental Assessments for Flood Risk Management Plans .
