Claremorris
The Office of Public Works has decentralised an Advance Office to Claremorris, Co. Mayo, with 30 staff working in temporary offices in the town at Unit 20, Lakeside Retail Park since 10th September 2007. The units based at Claremorris are drawn from 3 of OPW's Business Units and are:
* Visitor Services: This is a section within the Heritage Services Business Unit which deals with the provision of Guide Services, Visitor facilities, Marketing and Site publications at Heritage Sites throughout the country.
* Publications Section: This is a section within the Office of Public Works dealing with the sale of Government Publications to the general public and the wholesale and retail book market.
* Project Management Services: This is a section dealing with the provision of integrated Project Management Services for all Departmental and Agency new builds and refurbishment projects in 11 Counties in the Border, Midlands and Western area* and Property Management Services for An Garda Siochána in these counties.
The site for the permanent accommodation has been purchased and is located on the Ballyhaunis Road, Claremorris. A decision to proceed with the provision of the permanent accommodation at this site will be made following a Government review of the balance Decentralisation Programme in mid 2011.
* Counites included in Claremorris PMS remit currently are: Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Westmeath, Longford, Cavan, Mayo, Galway, Clare, & Kerry
