We issue ISBN numbers and barcodes for publications that will be sold through this office.   A Parliamentary Number often abbreviated  “PRN” is issued at the same time (if required).    You may download the ISBN Barcode Application Form

Departments or Bodies applying for a Parliamentary Number only can use the form above also omitting information such as Price and Number of Copies to be supplied.   Alternatively we will accept applications in a department's own internal format provided essential information such as the full title of the document to be laid plus contact details are provided.

Completed application forms can be forwarded by email to isbnprn@opw.ie or by FAX to 094 -937 8964.

All documents to be sold through the Government Publications Office must include our SALES INPRINT.   Please click to download the current version: Bilingual Sales Imprint

Government Publications issue Statutory Instrument (SI) numbers.   These numbers are issued in series in respect of each calendar year.   Most SIs must be laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas and so require a Parliamentary Number PRN.   Such PRNs are issued as an integrated part of the SI process – there is no need to apply separately.

SIs are managed using a dedicated secure website:

https://www.cahill-printers.ie/cios/sis/logon.asp.

If you wish to discuss the operation of the website or any other aspect of the  SI process, please telephone 01-647 6640 or 01-647 6635.
