In March 2011 I was appointed Minister of State at the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform, with special responsibility for Public Sector Reform and the OPW.

The OPW manages all State property and State Buildings throughout the country.  It has over 2,000 employees in more than 30 locations around Ireland.

The OPW is one of the oldest State bodies in Ireland, having been originally established in August 1831.  The OPW's mission is - "To deliver, in support of Government policies, high quality customer services in property, flood risk management, procurement and heritage in the most sustainable, efficient, and economic way possible".
