Flood Risk Management - About Us

The Office of Public Works (OPW) is the lead agency for flood risk management in Ireland. The coordination and implementation of the Government's policy on the management of flood risk in Ireland, in conjunction with our responsibilities under the Arterial Drainage Acts, 1945-1995, form one of the four core services of the OPW.

This website provides extensive background and information on flood risk in Ireland and the flood risk management services provided by the OPW, including details of recently completed, ongoing and planned programmes and projects. It also provides access to sources of detailed information, such as flood maps and hydrometric data.
